Community Service project - Matara Beach Clean
Because of human activities, coastal bed has been polluted.It carry out many bad effects to the organisms live in ocean.Such as aquatic animals,aquatic plants and coral reefs.As result of eating polythene by aquatic animals, their lives are shortened. Matara urban council had been taken many decisions to keep coastal bed clean.But it doesn't continued for a long time.So I proposed to clean the Matara coastal bed as my service project for Messenger of the Peace Award.

I did my service project successfully with my 11 partners at Matara Beach.There were many plastic bottles and peaces of glass.We have clean the coastal by collecting those things to many baggages and we hand over them to recycle.We got many experience in this project.Privately I can say it was my first service project annd will be a remarkable experience for me.I would like to thank my partners,our scout master,our parents and District commissioner V.G. Indika Prasanna.

Many of the people benefited by this project.Mainly it was benefited by the aquatic animals.Also after my project the coastal bed cleaned at it was gave a beautiful view for Matara city
It was a real experience for me. Because it was my first social service project.
