Community service on Dechen Zangdrup ritual event
My motivation to serve the elders comes from the happiness and inner peace I experience when I am able to help others. Seeing the elders happy, comfortable, and cared for gives me a deep sense of satisfaction and reminds me of the importance of kindness and compassion. I believe that elders have contributed greatly to our families and communities through their knowledge, experience, and sacrifices, and they deserve our love, respect, and support.
Their well-being is important to me, and I feel that serving them is one meaningful way of showing gratitude and appreciation. Even small acts of service, such as spending time with them, helping with their needs, listening to their stories, or simply making them feel valued, can bring happiness to their lives. This desire to bring joy to others and contribute to the well-being of the elderly motivates me to continue serving them with sincerity, patience, and compassion.
This event is held every year at different locations and is an important occasion for the local community. The main purpose of the event is to seek blessings, promote peace and harmony, and pray for the removal of negative or harmful influences. It is also an opportunity for the community to learn, reflect on, and practice the teachings of Buddha, particularly values such as compassion, kindness, peace, respect, and helping others.
As scouts, we were grateful to have the opportunity to support the community during this meaningful event. We helped with various activities and responsibilities to ensure that the event was organized smoothly. Through our participation, we were able to serve the community while also learning more about our cultural and religious traditions. The experience taught us the importance of respecting our heritage, working together, and serving others with dedication and humility. It also strengthened our sense of responsibility as scouts and encouraged us to contribute positively to our community.
