A need had been recognised for a parents and toddlers group in the community to welcome new parents and provide a weekly opportunity to meet. Florencecourt guides decided to support this new group by holding a coffee morning to raise awareness of this new group and raise funds to buy equipment for them. Advertising posters were designed and displayed in the local school and public buildings such as the GP surgery and Churches. The guides baked and brought cakes and set up the room for the event. During the event guides served tea & coffee with scones and cakes, and also entertained the toddlers allowing parents a chance to meet and network. The event was well supported with many parents showing enthusiasm for the project and planning to attend the regular Monday Tumble Tots sessions. In addition through donations and cake sales the event raised £200. This will buy several low tables for the children to sit round for their juice & biscuits at the weekly event.
