Community Flood Relief Kitchen

When a flood strikes and your house is covered with mud and earth, it will take many days to rebuild your lives again. Floods struck the nearby village of my town in early January.
Immediately, What a Waste set up a volunteer based, community flood kitchen which cooked and served lunch and dinner to support the flood victims while they rebuild their lives. I am so glad I volunteered to serve here for 3 days during the whole time they were set up from January 3-16 2022. What A Waste is a non profit organization which recycles food to the B40 community. The B40 community of Malaysia is the bottom 40% of the Malaysian household income who earn less than RM4,850 per month.
There were many people that came to queue for the food and all the things we cooked for lunch and dinner were served in a flash. We fed about 150 families per session, daily. It was a great experience being able to see them having proper food for 14 days straight.
