Community coming together for a betterment
Everytime when people travel up and down, the always drink the holy water on the way but now because of the bushes, the path has been blocked and no one goes down to drink it. i wanted to be an example for people to look up to and inspire them to volunteer. So me along with my community members volunteered.
if someone doesn't step forward, no one will.
The holy water lies just below the road on the way to Karshong, Gagar and Bjongthang. Some brought spade, sickles and knifes.
The road was all muddy but we didnt stop. After reaching the site, some started clearing bushes, some dug the path, some went to bring flat stones for the path.
Due to this initiative, the villagers of three villages can now have no problem going down and drinking the holy water which is considered special by everyone.
Not only that, members are now more motivated to volunteer for other works that would help their own village.
After this initiative, i learnt that trying is always better. If your help brings good changes, do that and take all the adventures.
My community based scout members are really active and cheerful, so next time i am going to make our project more fun where they will get to interact more with eachother.
