Commanding Calm: The Scouts in Action

The Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) gave us the opportunity to take part in crowd control, helping us build leadership and teamwork skills. We were motivated to learn how discipline and cooperation contribute to peaceful and well-organized communities — supporting SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. This experience inspired us to lead with responsibility and serve others with respect.
Scouts gathered near Tendrel Thang at 7:00 a.m. for a briefing by the troop leader and coordinator, then dispersed to their duty posts. We managed the crowd by guiding lines, assisting the elderly, and communicating with tourists. After the Tshechu ended and people left, Scouts stayed back to clean the entire arena and pick up waste, showing true teamwork and service spirit.
We learned the value of teamwork, communication, and responsibility while managing the crowd. Cleaning the arena after the Tshechu reminded us that true leadership means serving others and caring for our environment.
