Coastal Clean-Up: Promoting the Marine Ecosystem

According to UNESCO, there are approximately 50-75 Trillion pieces of plastic and microplastic in ocean. If left unsolved, it could cause harm to marine wildlife and could possibly affect us humans as well. That's why the Babag National High School Falcons decided to execute a coastal clean-up right beside the waters of GOTHONG Corporation in Brgy. Canjulao in order to reduce the trash in the ocean, and possibly save the earth, one step at a time.
The Babag Falcons executed the Project right beside the waters of GOTHONG Corporation in Brgy. Canjulao. We made sure to pick up trash along the way, and segregated them accordingly to their respective garbage containers. We also make sure that the trash is properly disposed of before we surrender the trash to our local garbage collectors.
Residents living near the venue can benefit from the Coastal Clean-Up since fishing is one of the primary ways in which they make a living. So fishermen can do their jobs without too much trouble since there is less trash in the ocean. Although the impact is seemingly small, it still makes the residents and the marine wildlife's lives at least a little better. Which is essentially one of the responsibilities of a scout; to help the community and the environment.
In this project, I've learned that marine conservation is essential to our environment. Since we rely on them for survival and livelihood, we have to take care of them. Failing to do so could jeopardize the marine environment and disrupt our lives as well. I've also learned that seemingly small things, if done more often and with more people, could result in big things to happen. This means that if everyone could work together, we could solve the marine environment crisis and save the earth.
