Coastal Clean-up Drive by the Catanduanes Council

When the Catanduanes Council discovered the beach of Palnab, they were greeted by loads of plastic waste in the sand. The area seemed closer to a dumpsite than of a public beach. Despite this, the locals still swim there as if it were any beach. Catanduanes Council fears that this could cause health issues to the people that swim there. This is what inspired the Catandunganon scouts to take action and help save and clean the coast.
With the presence of DENR Catanduanes, together with 14 senior scouts and 4 adult leaders, the Catanduanes Council held a coastal cleanup. The trash bags used were provided by the Catanduanes Council and the DENR gave the scouts a brief lecture on the Marine Biodiversity of the Philippines after the activity. The trash Recovered from the site was brought to the barangay's Material Recovery Facility (MRF) for proper disposal.
As a result of the activity, the beach of Palnab was cleaned and the Catanduanes Council proudly claims that the place is definitely better than it was a day prior.
The scouts that participated in the said event have all learned just how the lack of discipline can hurt a place, community, and even country.
