For my community service project, I choose to clean up the road near my house. the project took place in Colombo district, in the city named ethul Kotte and name of the road is colambathanthree mawatha, 

On 11th March 2021, I started my project at 8.00 am. my mother was there with me for my safety as well. firstly I collected all the plastic, paper, and polythene bags and put them into dedicated trash bags. it was a little hard for me to collect paper since last night's rainfall. after that, I tend to collect all the leaves that have been fallen to the ground from trees. 

I had to be careful of the vehicle traffic as well because this is a narrow road. it was hard to work because of the humidity. however, after a cup of a refreshing drink, I kept on cleaning the remaining. end of the day I categorized all the garbage and safely disposed of them.

I managed to complete my objectives and because of that, I could stop garbage from entering the city's drainage systems, also the spread of mosquitos. And when there is no garbage people could walk on the road without a hassle. the clean environment is always a soothing sight to see.

At the end of the project, I got appreciated by the neighbors and I'm also feeling happy and proud of my project, and always happy to help the community.
