Clean water project
A troop of guides and scouts worked on understanding the SDG for Clean Water and sanitation. By taking a closer look at how much water we use on a daily basis, how much water it takes to produce a number of items of clothing as well as creating lists on how to reduce our water usage, we found our selves with new knoledge and understanding.
We also decided to try to make a water filter and different ways to clean water. We used active coal among other things and it was a good experience for many of the scouts. The group also made a trip to a water treatment plant.
Now they know how to clean water but also how hard it can be to find clean water and the lack of water in our world. The lists on how to reduce water was put together into a list for parents and others who might be interested, so that we can spread the knowledge on how to reduce water usage.
The project was part of the badge programme for "Vatten" (Water), from the Guides and Scouts of Sweden.
