Clean Water Initiative: SDG-6

We were motivated to protect our environment and support SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation). The polluted wetland near the college inspired us to take action as Rovers to create a cleaner and healthier surroundings for the community.
To support SDG 6, 70 Rovers cleaned the wetland near Shabujbag Government College, Dhaka. We worked inside the water body and collected over 200 kg of non-biodegradable waste. The collected waste was then handed over to the City Corporation.
We learned the importance of teamwork and community action in restoring polluted ecosystems. We also realized how massive the plastic waste crisis is in urban areas and how small citizen efforts can significantly contribute to achieving SDG 6.
