Clean beach, happy ocean: Youth cleanup action

Because we saw organic and inorganic waste washed ashore from anywhere, or intentionally thrown by people around the beach. As a result, the beach view became unpleasant and dirty.

We gathered at Cemara Sewu Beach with 12 scout members at 8 AM. We used plastic bags to collect organic waste such as leaves and food waste, and inorganic waste such as plastic and bottles. We cleaned the beach for 2 hours and collected 24 kg of organic waste and 10 kg of inorganic waste.

We learned that teamwork makes cleanup finish faster. We learned that many people still litter carelessly, and after this action we hope people realize that even the smallest trash thrown carelessly will have an impact on the environment.
