Circles of Existence

Circles of Existence

The Israeli Boy and Girl Scout Federation is a multi-cultural and multi religion organization aiming to meet the differences between the various partners, especially in view of the delicate political situation in Israel and the Middle East. The main objective of the 'Circle of Existence' project is to strengthen tolerance and friendship between Arab and Jewish young scouts. In view of Arab-Jewish relations and of the delicate political situation in Israel and the Middle East the young scout leaders have an opportunity to meet and know each other and to have a fruitful dialog and activities in mutual working groups using scout's methods and tools. The scouts participating in the project are becoming young ambassadors to peace and tolerance in their tribes and communities. In light of the current geopolitical changes in the Middle East and the tensed relationships between the various denominations in Israel, there is an urgent need to implement coexistence educational and social programs for youngsters. Using scouts' tools will enable to achieve these goals, for better future of coexistence between Arabs and Jews in the region. We aim to empower young leaders from all scout's associations, Arab Jews and Druze and to encourage the involvement of the young trainers in operating the meetings of the "circles". • Each "circle of existence" is composed of 120 young scouts from all denominations and associations. • During the educational year, each circle meets about 5 times for a weakened. In each weekend another association hosts the "circle". • A typical program of a meeting consists of the following topics: Religion, Culture, Traditions, Learning to know each other society, Scout's activities.
