Chinese New Year Duty 2019
Helping others who are in need is a habit we should have. Due to the approach of Chinese New Year, our troop has organised an activity to service the old people who are lonely in their home of the elders. As so, I've joined this volunteerily.
The project was held on a chinese primary school in Penang. Once we've arrived there, we started cleaning the hall to provide a clean environment for the elders. After that, we started to welcome the elders and served them foods catered by a catering company. After that, there was a performance performed by a group of people and the elders seemed to enjoyed it. After that, we've escorted the elders on the transport and we've cleaned the hall. After that, we've went home by 4pm.
40 lonely elders were happy after this activity as they got to enjoy the warmth by us while celebrating Chinese New Year.
I've learned about the importance of serving the elders. Besides, I've also learned about the traditions of Chinese New Year.
