Charity Days For People With Disabilities
My friends and I interested in understanding more about people with disabilities. The first thing that concerns us is how to effectively communicate with them. When we started interact, we must learn their manner. The second concern is changing how society views those who have disabilities. People must realize that all people are unique. I hope that our project will motivate the larger community and underline that people with disabilities are just like us and an important part of society.
The project was well executed. We managed to interact with 12 students with intellectual disabilities at Special Needs School 2 Yogyakarta. They enjoyed the activities in our project, especially singing and dancing with us. We also documented our projects and published it through social media. The aim is to motivate and inspire more people to learn how to interact with people with disabilities. In addition, it shows that they are just like regular children who like to play and learn new things.
We managed to make an impact on students, teachers, and society. Students were our main priority in this project. Students were our main priority in this project. We managed to give them a light and fun education. They also enjoyed it. We also managed to help the teachers fill in new activities for the students. The last one: we hope this project impacts society, especially through our social media, because we have around 2.700 followers on Instagram when we publish it.
We learn that we need to see people with disabilities just like we see normal human beings. We also need to learn how to interact with them in the proper way. They don't want us to discriminate against or ignore them. From this new perspective, we will always try to educate and inspire society. We (Senior Rover Scout UGM) also have a commitment to be Messenger of Peace. This is not our final project. Next month, we are going to released our final project that we hope can bring a positive impact.
