CENTS FOR A CAUSE

This program was launch by the scouts on September 7, 2017 at Malabang National High School.and introduced in some schools. The program aims to collect unused centavo coins Instead of throwing it. The scouts provide piggy bank in every corner around the school campus and other schools for the students to drop their centavo coins. This is in cooperation with the Central Bank of the Philippines Coin Recirculation Program. During the launching, Outfit Advisor Roquiza S. Balindong, RN who initiated this program, discussed to the students and faculties how much money had lost in the banking system every centavo coins that had been ignored and not used. The collected centavo coins surrendered to the Central Bank of the Philippines and changed it with paper money with the corresponding amount value, The money is used in the FEEDING PROGRAM of the scouts. Internally Displaced Kids(Marawi Seige Victims) and the Malnourished Kids(Badjao,Tausog,Sama,Bisaya,Maguindanaon,Maranao Tribe) of Baranggay Bunkhouse,Malabang,Lanao del Sur are the recipient of this Cents for a Cause Feeding Program of the MNHS-Boy Scouts of the Philippines. Last July 24, 2018, Malabang National High School - Boy Scouts of the Philippines nominated by the Central Bank of the Philippines during their 2018 Awarding Ceremony for their Stakeholders by region. Scouts of Malabang National High School won and awarded the Outstanding Regional Partner for Coin Recirculation Program (ARMM).
