Celebrating World Environnent Day planting 300 trees
World environnent day celebration
This year's WED celebration marked the launch of the decade of restoration.
This had a particular importance for our country that has lost more than 80% of its forest coverage over the last 80 years. This has led to the country suffering from major drawbacks fueled by the climate crisis such as irregular seasons and lesser rains. This simple exemple has major impacts on the whole country's activity.
Indeed, with a huge part of the national Powe grid running through Hydropower, lesser rain means less electricity and major economic losses.
This WED was thus the perfect time to send a signal on the urgence on the situation, and the urgence of acting now more than ever.
So with the help of the Ministry of Waters and Forest, we planted 300 trees in order to mark the celebration of the WED, and also affirm our commitment to make that decade of restoration count
