Castle Saunderson Peace Award

Castle Saunderson Peace Award

5th Louth Cub Scouts decided to visit their local St. Oliver’s nursing home in Dundalk, Ireland. They hosted a myriad of traditional, cultural and folk performances for the residents. The Cub Scouts demonstrated their talents by playing various musical instruments such as the banjo, tin whistle, violin, piano and ukulele. Two of the Cub Scouts who are very accomplished Irish dancers performed 3 dances to add to the joy of the hospital residents. Their audience was captivated by the energy, talent and enthusiasm of the Cub Scouts. The atmosphere brightened the hearts of the residents and this was evident through their smiling faces, foot tapping and clapping. The Cub Scouts then tidied up a small garden used by the residents which involved weeding, tidying the flower pots and sweeping the footpath. The Cubs Scouts went home knowing that they helped brighten up the day for the residents. They promised to return again and are eagerly awaiting their revisit!
