Canada Day Pancake Service

The Canada Day Scarborough Scout Pancake Breakfast has been run for 52 years. Scouts and Scouters sponsored by the City of Toronto help to serve between 600 and 1000 community members a free pancake breakfast to help celebrate Canada Day. Pancakes are cooked on site and are served. The free breakfast consists of pancakes with syrup, coffee, tea and juice. Service prep begins at 9:00am so that service can begin by 10:00am. The service lasts until 12:00pm. Clean-up can last up to one hour after service. The Scouts are responsible for supplying some tent shelters, plates, cutlery, syrup, sugar, milk and creamers, cups, tea, coffee, juice, napkins and all cooking supplies. The City supplies the tables and pancake mix.

In 2019, there were 14 volunteers from the 11th Toronto Scout Group, and 5 volunteers from the 2nd Scarborough Rover Crew.
