In January the Girrawah Unit Council voted unanimously to take action in support of the bushfire recovery efforts. After weeks of planning, last night they constructed possum boxes using donated wood (thanks Bunnings Warehouse Australia!) for animals who have lost their habitats, and made beds using recycled fabric for animals recovering in wildlife hospitals. All items will now be transported to areas of need. A HUGE thanks to Therese and Sam for coming along to help with the sewing and woodwork.

The items were donated to the local chapter of the Animal Rescue Cooperative (ARC). The possum boxes are on their way to the South Coast and the animal beds are destined for a nearby joey wildlife sanctuary.
