Bright Yard: A Humanitarian Touch by Rovers

Our main inspiration came from our commitment to the core value of Rover Scouting—service to others. We aimed to create a clean and humane environment for everyone, including the prison visitors and those nearby. We believe that even a small effort can bring comfort and dignity to someone's life. This belief motivated us to take action.
We first took permission from the prison authorities and planned the activity with their support. On 19 July, 10 Rover Scouts from Metropolitan University cleaned the surrounding areas of the prison, especially the visitor zones. We used cleaning tools to ensure a hygienic environment and reduce health risks. The entire activity was done in coordination with prison staff to maintain safety and order.
This project taught us that even small acts of service can bring meaningful change. We learned the importance of working together with institutions, like the prison authority, to create a greater impact. It also reminded us that dignity and care should be extended to all—regardless of place or people. Most importantly, we discovered the power of teamwork, planning, and compassion in building a cleaner and more humane society.
