BLOOD DONATION PROGRAMME DURING COVID-19 LOCKDOWN PERIOD

As we all know that the Corona virus compelled us to be under a nationwide lockdown since March 25. In this hour of crisis, Many Blood Bank were running out of required stock of blood. For which Voluntary Blood Donors Association of Sikkim came forward to fulfill all the requirement of blood in the State.

In this context, VBDAS had arranged emergency service vehicles for the blood heroes to donate their precious Red Gold. Many blood heroes including Gram Panchayats were came forward from the Namthang Block who travelled 120Kms approx(To and Fro). There were 27 units of blood donated by these blood heroes at Blood Bank of New Super Multi-Speciality Hospital, Gangtok East Sikkim. All expenditure for the vehicle and pack Lunch were provided by Dr. Barun Subba, Chief Advisor of VBDAS. Some local press and media were also present to capture the precious moment and interviewed with the Organiser, Doctors and Donors. In which I was one of them to place my opinion about this service for the great cause during this hour of need.
