Blood Donation Camp

With an aim to collect 300 units of blood which would help to save close to 900 lives, we organised a blood donation camp on 31st January at college. There were 3 volunteer organisations like, Indian Red Cross Society, Kidwai memorial institute of oncology and the Bowring Institute. The camp started at 8 in the morning and went up to 2 in the afternoon, we had 25 volunteers at the camp and 15 volunteers on field motivating and creating awareness about blood donation. There were 40 doctors and other assistants who carried on the whole process of blood grouping, hemoglobin check,weight check and blood drawing very systematically. The initiative was successful, there were 642 donors and 642 units of blood was collected.
