BETTER ENERGY CHOICES TRAINING MASVINGO

Less than 60% of the country's population has access to electricity due to limited supply and many people have started using Solar systems without much knowledge and understanding on how to efficiently harness the power of the sun hence many many revert to old and traditional ways of generating and using energy. The project goal is to help educate communities on effective and efficient use of solar energy , make better choices and lessen energy consumption.
A training was done at Civic Centre in masvingo Province ,with 24 participants from different communities and within scouting. The project was organised with the support of The Scouts Association of Zimbabwe and we engaged the authorities in Masvingo who helped gather participants for the training.
About 300 people benefited from this activity as Each participant was challenged to share the skills and knowkedge with their scouts and firends/ family.
Before the training participants wont understand the need to understand how solar systems works but as the training progresses , all begin understand and even more engaging. Participants were empowered to make better energy choices and were eager to go back home and begin a new life style being aware of the dangers of wasteful energy consumption. We can help save the environment if we are able to make better choices
