Azerbaijan became a full member of WAGGGS
More than 500 people came together in Delhi, India for the 36th World Conference. The week started with huge celebrations as Syria, Aruba, Azerbaijan and Palestine all became full members of WAGGGS, and Albania and Niger became associate members. We are proud to be growing and to celebrate the diversity and tolerance of Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting.
Another important purpose of the Conference was meeting new people and sharing a common Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting spirit. Incredible Keeper of the Flame team helped to ensure that everyone at the 36th World Conference had fun, celebrated Indian and global culture and shared a common purpose. We love these fun photos from our photo booth, International Night and Opening Ceremony - just a few of our highlights from a colourful, cultural week.
There is a problem of participation of women in social life in Azerbaijan, and especially the problem is more exacerbated in villages of our Republic. By developing the Girl Guiding Movement in our country, we will be able to increase the number of girls in our country, and convey to them the main goal of WAGGGS, we will support girls and young women to develop their full potential as leaders and active citizens of the world.
