Awareness programme and cleaning campaign to celebrate international peace day

Report on International Peace Day- 21st September

We the Nachung Scout Members of Melongkhar family joins the world in celebrating International Peace Day with the theme “Climate Action for Peace”. Celebration began from 9 AM by sharing the importance of the day and ended around 4.30 PM.

 

To mark the day, the staff and students of Melongkhar Primary school (total 70 participants) conducted village cleaning campaign and created awareness to the public on health and sanitation and to promote physical greenery. The cleaning campaign started around 9:30 am right after the morning assembly from the school. We were in two groups. We picked all the trashes and during the campaign we have covered three villages, Yarphel-Namthey and Chema. The campaign nearly lasted around 8 hours and the participants were also served refreshments.

   

 

All the teachers and students joined the celebration and marked the day with much enthusiasm.
