Awareness On Menstrul Hygiene

All the females around us face menstruation at a point of time in their life. Many of them comes to know about menstruation after they start to have it. The project named as “Menstrual Hygiene” was a step taken by us to spread awareness among all around us, especially we aimed to educate the girl child of age group 9-13 years.
We choosed the area known as Badarpur to do the project. We went from door to door to help people know about it and the basic process to maintain the hygiene during this time. It motivated them to follow the steps that we said them to do and follow during this particular period of time. We continued this project for a week. Apart from this we also had a session by a doctor where we know about various reasons behind maintaining hygiene during this time and the importance of having periods.
Many people were benefited from this as after completion of door to door work we also asked them what they had understood from it and few other different questions related to the explanation provided by us. Some of them were not comfortable at first to talk about it. But we also explained them to stop this Period Stigma as it's nothing to hide about, and let everyone know about it. They also then felt a bit more comfortable to know and discuss about it.
Many people are still unaware of many basic things to maintain hygiene in a proper way, so we also taught them about those. Every single females have it and it's very normal to have it.So, the periods stigma should be stopped and we should allow people to know about it instead if hiding it. It's very normal to move freely around during periods instead of sitting in a corner of the house. Be proud for bleeding in every single months. You're a woman and you're the strongest!
