Ava W's Power Pack Program Eagle Project
This cause is deeply personal to me. I've seen friends and classmates in the Bethel School District quietly struggle with food insecurity, not knowing if there would be enough to eat when they got home. The Power Pack Program plays a vital role in filling that gap, providing weekend meals to students who might otherwise go hungry. After winter break, no food drives are scheduled, which forces the program to purchase food during the spring—putting a strain on their already limited resources.
Conducted 6 in person storefront food drives collecting non perishable food items and financial donations. Conducted a 2 week unit food drive with Pack 692 and Troop 692. Conducted an event to weigh and sort donations for the beneficiary. reached out local media via MyNorthWest.Com (kiro 7 news) to promote project. Reached out to the Seattle Mariners (MLB), Seattle Kraken (NHL), Seattle Thunderbirds, & Tacoma Rainiers to have a mascot appearance to help promote events.
Learned project management skills. Learned how to coordinte multiple events for the community through multiple partnerships.
