Ambassadors of peace in Israel Scouts
The main aim of the project is to create meetings in Israeli society, Scouting as a connecting tool for cultivating future Scouting leadership. The Israel Boy & Girl Scouts Federation contains 5 NSOs, including Muslim, Christian Orthodox, Christian Catholic Druze and Hebrew (Jewish) Scouts. The MoP project will allow us to promote Scouting, educational, connecting activities between youth from communities in the Israeli population that without financial support will not be able to meet.
1. Writing the educational activities and adapting to all sectors, preparation of a methodology for marketing and recruiting trainees. 2. Formation of the trainees in mixed groups: learning concepts in different languages, building a joint program and writing joint viewer content. 3. Carryout a Scout trip and a mixed Scout camp that includes traditions of each organization. Preparing a joint parent meeting. 4. Peer study and evaluation: content writing and development of new initiatives.
The MoP project allows us to promote connecting activities, using the Scouting tools, between youth from various Israeli communities. The project is focused on Scouts aged 14-18, the age group in which the identities and opinions of the movement's members are shaped. We anticipate that the new interactions will have a great impact on youth and their families inside and outside the Scout arena across Israel. In total, the program is aiming for 1000 participants and 5000 beneficiars.
The Israeli society is going through difficult times of violent debate between its various parts, reflected also by disrespect for the different, among other things. Implementing our MoP prorject shwed us already the ability to make a real change among the varoius Israeli communities. The change is in creating a different life reality for teens who are Scout leaders. In the long run this can bring a dramatic change in Israeli society. To acheive it we should excecute many more such programs.
