Agoonoree

Agoonoree

Agoonoree is a Scout Camp in which youth members above the age of 12 are able to participate in. It is a camp in which Youth members take care of kids that are less fortunate than others. Each section has a different responsibility, for example the Scout section spends all their time with their guests, and the Venturer section, help set up the activities and help patrols in need. I went on this camp with my younger brother, and we helped to take care of two guests. Our one guest had cerebral palsy and was wheelchair bound. He had hearing, speech, muscle and intellectual impairment. Our main job was to help with his everyday activities like dressing him and feeding him, but also with making sure that he was having fun doing the activities and we made sure comforted him. At the end of the camp, he said to his Dad that was picking him up, 'Daddy, daddy, these are my friends, Daddy'. He was lots of fun taking care of. Our other guest was also lots of fun. He had ADD 'Attention Deficit Disorder'. Although it was quite hard to take care we found out that he liked to play card games, we found that that was an activity that interested us all.
