On 16th of March 2019, a team lead by Scout Leader Mr. Rinchen Dorji (ALT) and Mr. Karsang Ugyen (BULT, Y-VIA Coordinator) coordinated one day advocacy and awareness programme on waste management related issues to the public gathered for annual Gomphukora Tshechu on the theme " Our waste, Our Responsibility. Let us keep our community clean!".

A total of 30 student participants (15 scout members and 15 Y-VIA members) took part in the programme. The target area on focus was the general public and shopkeepers (stall owners) gathered during the tshechu and team disseminated about waste manangement at home and in public places.  A few banners were also put on display for information sharing and advocating general public on waste. Following the awareness to the general public the team carried out cleaning and picking trash around the area. The good scene during the conduct of the programme was, a few of the general public also took part and lended their helping hands for the good cause.

The coordinators would like to thank school administration (Tsenkharla Central School, Trashi Yangtse) for rendering bus service to the participants during the conduct of the programme.
