Advanced Woodbadge Course Part 2
Finally! The second part of the advanced woodbadge course for Scouts and Cubs aka Kursus Manikayu 3(2) or 3b PM and PKK was held at Templers Park, Rawang. It was a great feeling to finally get out with nature again as the concept of the course is for us to be leaders and train the Scouts, we have to experience the same thing we put our scouts through. So we camped in the forest, carrying out the activities a standard scout camp will deal with, particularly camp craft and cooking where we ahve to meet camping standards as well as the fact that we will have different sessions along the way on brainstroming for programs, risk management, communication skills and simple skills. It was a great experience to relearn the basics.
The largest different between the cub scout (PKK) unit course and the scouts (PM) unit course was the length of the hike and duration of the camp, with PKK having a shorter hike and 3D2N camp with the PM have an 8km hike and a 4D3N camp.
During the whole process, we still learn that as volunteer leaders, our service makes a difference whether we notice or not to the scouts that will learn from us and take inspiration from us to to better.
