6th Melbourne Scouts litter collection night

6th Melbourne Scouts were keen to help their community by collecting litter on the way to and at one of their favourite parks.
We partnered up with Clean Up Australia Day to conduct a litter clean up night at Newells Paddock in Kensington. We walked from our hall to the park and picked up rubbish along the way. When we arrived at the park we collected more rubbish. There was a prize for the patrol that collected the most rubbish.
The local community will benefit from this project. We saw many people out for a walk while we were collecting rubbish and hope that they are inspired to keep their local areas clean now too.
Next time we would take a different route back to our hall to provide more opportunities for litter collections.
