A total of 23 MoP coordinators participated at the 5th Messengers of Peace Coordinators Gathering held at Nakhon Pathom, Thailand from 9-13 June 2019.

            For the new triennium, more than half of the coordinators were newly appointed by their NSOs and some of them are very new in handling the MoP initiatives. To train them, different learning sessions were conducted by the MoP core team members and resource person from Global Support office.

         The sessions include updates on APR actions and achievements, Better World Framework, Scouts for SDGs, introduction to MoP initiatives and project grant management, Commercial and Non-commercial License on Protected Identity Guide and Donation Platform.

To know the current situation of each NSOs in the promotion of MoP initiatives, the participants presented their NSO’s success stories and challenges and also discussed their different peace projects being implemented in their country. A field visit was conducted at Wat Rai Khing School where MoP Coordinators were able to conduct different Scouting activities and be trained on handling project beneficiaries.

            The MoP Thailand team also introduced the culture of Thailand through the educational tour and cultural presentation. To conclude the meet, the participants were asked to create their 2019-2020 action plan and had an open forum for questions and recommendations facilitated by Mr. Prassanna.
