4R's [Activity-4 E-WASTE]

By growing awareness and gaining an understanding of the environmental impacts we have on our planet, we can be better informed of where and how to act. A lack of awareness and responsibility has all added up to polluted land, sea and air. From a lack of consideration of the environment in the way we manage waste to mass-producing throw-away items to keep up with demand. Thankfully things are changing and understanding the importance of the 4R's can certainly help us inform our choices. By increasing our sustainability in the home and better managing our waste we can all make a concerted difference. Especially if we are to all play a role in helping keep our oceans free from plastic waste and reducing our consumption of needless items that can pollute our environment once disposed of. The 4R's make for a simple yet effective way to help us consider the items that we buy, use and dispose of. When we choose to stop and think about each of the 4R's it helps us to consider a number of important aspects related to our consumption. From what we buy, to how we can reduce, to what can be reused and how we eventually get rid of it. If we are to make a difference to the environment then now is the time to identify the importance of the 4R's. Activity 04 Background E-waste or electronic waste is created when an electronic product is discarded after the end of its useful life. The rapid expansion of technology and the consumption driven society results in the creation of a very large amount of e-waste in every minute. The basic objective of this eWaste is simple - it collects the used e-waste or the malfunctioned electronic/electrical devices from people who no longer need them, and distributes these devices to the recycling centre. And also Refurbishes and Put on Second Sale. It's a brilliant idea and leaves one wondering as to why such an idea was not already implemented. The E-Waste would be good for donors as well because while disposing their devices they would be doing charity by ensuring that these devices reach the recycling centres free of cost. #scouts #ScoutsBeatEPollution
