1st Midrand National Cub Challenge 2021

This project forms part of the Scouts South Africa, National Cub Challenge. It is an amazing initiative that focuses on 4 SDG's annually. Each goal is broken up into smaller more manageable projects. 2021 covered SDGs 6, 7, 8 & 11. We get to teach our Cubs to look after our world as best as they can.
Our projects took place at our Scout Hall as well as during our online Pack Meetings during lockdown. We incorporated the SDG tasks into our Cub programs. We made TIppy Taps for the children of a disadvantaged school while still recapping how to wash our hands correctly. We also put together "Picnic in a Box" packages to celebrate Mandela Day with a local school for underprivileged children.
There were 120 children at the school that we supported. We ensured that there was enough for all the children to have a treat for the day. We also included the dedicated teachers in our efforts. They have made a huge difference in the lives of these children.
Our Cubs have learnt that they are responsible for their behaviours. Responsible behaviours will lead to a more sustainable future for everyone. Our children are leading the way forward. Together, they will bring a brighter future.
