1st Grantham Park Scout Troop, had responded to an international call, for a clean-up initiative. The initiative is called 'Litter Less Campaign'. The objective, was to raise awareness regarding pollution, as a result of human activities. 1st Grantham Park was seen picking up litter, after school hours.
The project took place at Grantham Park Primary School, situated at Grantham Park, Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
The project positively impacted the school, by hindering an unwanted accumulation of litter. We also managed to protect animals from consuming these materials, which have a dreadful potential to our visiting bird species.
We learnt about the importance of taking care of our space, as far as hygiene is concerned. It is also very important acquire a sense of awareness, regarding such subjects, to enable responsible actions.
