OVER 400 Rover Scouts from across the ASEAN region visited Belait District for a tree planting activity as part of an environmental project organised by the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD). Guest of honour was member of the Legislative Council Yang Berhormat Iswandy bin Ahmad who is also a member of national scouting council at the PPNBD.

The activity, which is a project under the 1st ASEAN Rover Moot, was held along the road to Labi near Kampong Sungai Mau. After a short briefing and a demonstration, the guest of honour and the participants were given a seedling each to plant. Following the tree planting activity, the contingent made their way to a temporary campsite where several cultural activities were held.Among the activities included traditional games, art, cooking demonstration and handicrafts showcased by residents from the Village Consultative Council (MPK) of Kampong Merangking.

Prior to the Tree Planting Programme which was held on 17 December 2018, preliminary works had already been done by the PPNBD Tree planting Manager and the Tree planting team to maintain existing trees and ground works for new planting site which are during during tree planting programme on 17 December 2018.
