13th Malaysia Scout Jamboree 2016 // Kuala Lumpur International Scout Jamboree 2016
Jamboree's Aim:
13th Malaysia Scouts Jamboree & 2016 Kuala Lumpur's International Scouts Jamboree is conducted to gather Scouts from Malaysia and beyond, create a network of brotherhood and friendship in Scouting at all levels – locally and internationally; enhance the quality of the young people through global communication and adventure throughout the jamboree to produce next generation capable of skills and network in a high capacity.
Objectives:
At the end of seven days, the Jamboree participants will be able to:-
• Establish and appreciate the sense of unity and solidarity in scouting. Participants will share common space and have responsibility for other. The Jamboree will encourage the values of respect for one’s own self and other people with emphasis on equal rights and peace;
• To raise awareness of unity and peace issues including identifying local actions that Scouts are undertaking;
• To support NSO's and encourage them to take active role in developing environment education programs and adopt the Messenger of Peace (MoP) Program of WOSM;
• To establish a network of potential leaders who can lead the Scouting movement in their respective countries, states, districts even local Scouts groups and share information on existing good practices.
Participants:
• Participants (Scouts): 12 - 17 years old
• Iternational Service Team: 18 years and older, Rover Scouts, Scout Leaders, B-P Guild Member and Scout Commissioners
Venue:
Taman Metropolitan Batu (Metropolitan Batu Park) is about 9 kilometers away from the Pusat Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur(City of Kuala Lumpur. The park is a public park with a wide_scale of 30 hectares.The location is strategically place near the city.It is also near the Lebuhraya Utara Selatan and Lebuhraya Pantai Timur exit. There is also a train station which is the Taman Wahyu KTM Komuter about 400 meters from the venue.
