A wonderful day for Scouting in Kabul, Afghanistan
On 30 September 2014,Scouts from our Marastoon Scout Troop partnered with the Afghan National Police to set up a community service day just down the street near Polytechnique University. As always, the event attracted plenty of attention, and this time we got a heart-warming surprise. A boy approached some of the Scouts to ask what they were doing. He then ran off to a nearby house, and a few minutes later reappeared and announced that he would join in and help the Scouts with their work. Together they painted road signs, collected garbage, and distributed flyers to onlookers to spread the Afghan Scouting message. This kind of voluntary community involvement is exactly what Scouting is all about. Well done, Scouts!
