The Upshift event held at Damphu Central School in tsirang over three days was a transformative experience for scouts, aiming to reshape their mindset and perspectives. As a dedicated scout youth leader, we played a pivotal role throughout the program, focusing on meal preparation, program logistics, and contributing to the overall success. Our involvement included preparing refreshments and cooking meals, as well as coordinating donations and organizing a memorable hiking expedition to Dophu Ney in Tsirang. During the hike, we emphasized the importance of respecting cultural heritage and preserving the natural beauty of the country. This hands-on approach connected the scouts with the core values of scouting and helped them appreciate and cherish the environment. The program spanned from August 19th to August 21st, running from 8:45 AM to 5:30 PM daily. In addition to the outdoor activities, we also facilitated learning experiences within town areas. This included guiding scouts through surveys to identify local issues and address them as part of the Upshift initiative. our assistance in interacting with shopkeepers and elderly individuals demonstrated the practical application of scouting principles in real-life situations. Overall, our contributions as a scout youth leader were instrumental in creating a meaningful and impactful Upshift event. The scouts benefited from the program by undergoing a mindset shift and gaining insights into responsible citizenship, cultural preservation, and the importance of living in harmony with nature.
