Scouts Join Disaster-Housing Training

BANYUMAS, INDONESIA – Pramuka Peduli (Scout Care) of the Banyumas Regency Scout Council (Kwarcab Banyumas) has taken a major step forward in future-proofing its humanitarian response. Moving beyond emergency evacuations, the Scouts are now mastering advanced post-disaster reconstruction technologies. Represented by council official Kak Ari Pringgo Aji, S.Psi., the Scouts actively participated in a technical workshop on building RUSPIN (Rumah Unggul Sistem Panel Instan), an innovative, rapid-assembly, and earthquake-resistant modular housing system. The strategic training, held on Thursday, June 4, 2026, in Cindaga Village, Kebasen District, was organized by the Banyumas Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in collaboration with the engineering firm CV Rumah Panel Bangun Mandiri.

The event was officially opened by the Head of BPBD Banyumas, Mr. Dwi Irawan Sukma, S.STP., M.Hum.. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that educating volunteers and academics on the RUSPIN method is crucial for the region's geographical preparedness.

"The RUSPIN method is a vital innovation that aligns perfectly with BPBD’s Rehabilitation and Reconstruction division," stated Dwi Irawan Sukma. "Through this workshop, we are introducing a housing construction system that is not only significantly faster to build but also possesses a much stronger structure capable of withstanding earthquake shocks."

The productive session featured a comprehensive lineup of experts, including virtual presentations from the Ministry of Public Works, technical insights from the Banyumas Housing and Residential Areas Agency (Dinperim), and practical guidance from the specialist team at CV Rumah Panel Bangun Mandiri.

Reflecting on the hands-on experience at the production facility, Kak Ari Pringgo Aji noted that this knowledge will become a cornerstone for the Scout volunteer corps' future deployments. Through this cross-sector collaboration, the Banyumas Scouting movement continues to elevate its capacity to face future humanitarian challenges, demonstrating how local youth action directly contributes to building resilient, sustainable communities.
