Scout and Guides of DAV Public school Berhampur exhibited its solidanty with the people affected by the devastating Cyclone Fony through a Relief Distribution programme on D1 08-05-2019 The programme initiated by school was generously assisted by some kind parents & teachers through cash and kind which enabled the school staff to prepare 500 Relief bags each containing bread flattened rice sugar biscuits, water bottle, candles and match boxes A special Relief Team was formed under the leadership of Principal in charge Mrs Dharashree Padhy along with Guide Captains Ms. Swapna Panigrahi, Ms. Sunita Nayak. Scout Master Mr. Kedarnath Mahapatro & Mr. Jagadish Bishoyi, NCC Army leader Mr. Manas Rarjan Panda, NCC, Navy leader Mr. Vincent Dash, teachers Mr. Sameer Panigrahi, Mr. Dilip Behera, Mr. Ashok Kumar Mishra, Mr. Dugra Prasad Sahu, Mr. Susant Dash, Mr. Udaya Nath Padhy and Non-teaching staff Mr. Jagabandhu & Mr Narayana to carry out the programme in an effective way The DAV Special Relief Team was guided to the marooned area by a local volunteer Mr. Ratnakar Pallai and his journalist brother Mr. Jeenu kumar Pallai The team was the ist Agency to reach the area and it was received very warmly by the local communities They were joined by the members of a local voluntary organization named 'May I Help You to expedite the programme The joint team covered as many as seven villages 6amely Gomundi, Tubuka, Gurubiri. Khatikhai, Gobardhuli, Biripadara. Chari Chhaka, & Janhikuda of Krushna Prasad block in Puri Distrito. The Herculean task of identifying the actual beneficiaries was sorted out by the local voluntary group They also handled the pressure of petty leaders and the threat of local goons in a very tactful manner The joint team distributed Relief Bags to the worst hit 350 families
