Our District Association and a local organisation UttorerAdda jointly organised mass gathering through a bike rally to promote the awareness Safe Drive Save Life on 5th Aug 2018. The theme of the Rally was Patho Chetona (পথচেতনা). The total distance covered 5 Km. The opening ceremony of the programme conducted in front of Deshbandhu Park near our DHQ. The objective of the rally is to create the awareness among the bikers and the people on safe and peaceful driving in different kind of vehicles. There were a total of 100 bikers registered themselves and took proper initiatives to make this program a grand success. The registered bikers received a free T-Shirt to participate on this day. Apart from East Calcutta District Association Barrackpore, Howrah, South Calcutta, South-West Calcutta, Srirumpur-Uttarpara, Second Calcutta, and Uluberia District Association joined their hands with us to make it a grand success. The programme was bestowed on the presence of Sri Sadhan Pandey, Honourable MinisterIn Charge, Govt of WB & Chief Guest, Sri Dinesh Bajaj, Chairman, WBTIDC, & Guest of Honour Sri Aninda Kishor Routh, Chairman borough III & Councillor Ward No –13, KMC, Smt Pranati Bhattacharyya, Councillor Ward No – 12, KMC, Dr Arindam Bhattacharyya, District Chief Commissioner, East Calcutta BSG & other officials. The rally was started at 10:30 am from Deshbandhu Park, all dignitaries and guests flag off the rally The rally finished at the same place after completing about 5 km distance through R.G Kar Road – Shyambazar 5 points crossing – Khanna More – Maniktala More – Vivekananda Road Crossing – Bidhan Sarani – and Raja Dinendra St. It was a great achievement for us to promote the Save Drive Save Life awareness among the local people through the activity of Scouts.
