Messengers of Peace - Philippines launch HeForShe Campaign
All people are created equal in rights, dignity, and the potential to achieve great things. Equality, Generally, an ideal of uniformity in treatment or status by those in a position to affect either. Acknowledgment of the right to equality often must be coerced from the advantaged by the disadvantaged. The ideal of equality has insisted that men are politically equal, that all citizens are equally entitled to take part in political life, to exercise the franchise, to run for and hold office. It has insisted that individuals should be equal before the law, that when the general law confers rights or imposes duties, the rights and duties shall extend to all; or conversely that they shall not confer special privileges on particular individuals or groups
The Messenger of Peace Philippines integrated an campaign and activity related to Scouts SDG’s Diversity and inclusion and part of the Messengers of Peace Roadshow. The project is He for She, the aim of the program is to spread awareness about gender equality, commitment for the advocacy and spread the activities to help to grow the community and spread further the campaign regarding to the issue. The said program was launch last month where 150 scouts participants from different councils on three (3) different region; Southern Tagalog Region, National Capital Region, and Central Luzon Region, they participate on a virtual workshop headed by one of the Messengers of Peace Philippines core team scouter Veronica Itorma.
