Mauritius Scouts Association National Board members Induction Workshop.

Mauritius Scout Association with the support of the World Scout Bureau, Africa Support Centre held an Induction workshop on the weekend from the 8th and 9th of February 2020 at Palms Hotel, Quatre Bornes, Mauritius.

The main objectives of this induction workshop are to:

  1. Understad roles and responsibilities
  2. Form a successful team
  3. Understand and defining working methods
  4. Gain necessary skills
  5. Establish a feeling of ownership and enabling motivation

Twenty-two members of the Ordinary Council and National Executive Committee at MSA had participated in this workshop to improve capacities and collaboration withing the Leadership Team.

"We will long remember all the recommendations, I think it's good that we have the summing up afterwards, to see what we can implement most probably not at one go, but gradually we must prioritise and then get on along with you. Let's keep focus on development of scouts as one national management team - You will never walk alone", said the Chief Scout, Percy Appadoo.

"I think this induction will help us at the MSA to move in the right direction. I take the challenge and I personnally commit myself with the whole NEC team to make sure that our NSO goes all the way higher. We will take all the recommendations and put all these into actions, and we will give you the fruits in two to three years and I am sure it will be sweet", expressed the Chief Commissioner, Joseph Belle.

Mauritius Scouts Association wishes to thank the World Scout Bureau - Africa Support Centre and its representatives in the person of Mary Waweru (Director, Organisational Development) and Gilbert Mussumba (WOSM Consultant) for their support and sharing of good practices respecting governance services during the weekend and moving forward.
