The Importance of Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration to Achieve the 2030 SDGs Target
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 are an agenda for Sustainable Development. The SDGs are a new development agreement that encourages changes to shift towards sustainable development based on human rights and equality to promote social, economic and environmental development.
In its implementation, SDGs are enforced based on universal, integrated and inclusive principles to ensure that no one will be overlooked or “No-one Left Behind”. In this collective agreement, the SDGs consist of 17 Goals and 169.
This goal was jointly proclaimed by countries across governments in a UN resolution issued on 21 October 2015 as a joint development ambition until 2030.This goal is a continuation or replacement of the Millennium Development Goals signed by the leaders of 189 countries as the Millennium Declaration in UN headquarters in 2000 and retired since late 2015.
Meanwhile the Indonesian government has formulated the 17 goals into 4 pillars, including:
1. Social Development Pillars
SDGs Social Development is the achievement of the fulfillment of basic human rights that are of a fair and equal quality to improve the welfare of the whole society.
2. Environmental Development Pillars
The SDGs Environmental Development Development is the achievement of sustainable management of natural resources and the environment as a buffer for all life.
3. Economic Development Pillars
SDGs Economic Development is the achievement of quality economic growth through sustainable employment and business opportunities, innovation, inclusive industries, adequate infrastructure, affordable clean energy and supported by partnerships.
4. Law Development and Governance Pillars
Legal Development and SDGs Governance is the realization of legal certainty and governance that is effective, transparent, accountable and participatory to create security stability and achieve a law-based state.
To achieve these 17 goals, collaboration between the government and various parties is necessary. All parties must be involved, including stakeholders, such as the government and parliament, philanthropists and business actors, experts and academics, as well as civil society organizations and the media. Due to the implementation of sustainable development joint efforts.
On the other hand, technology development and progress in its field are also very important to pay attention to in order to support the achievement of the SDGs itself. The field of information and communication technology can certainly encourage the achievement of the SDGs.
One of them is Blockchain technology. Reporting from Antara News (July 29, 2019). Co-Founder and Deputy Chair of the Blockchain Commission for Sustainable Development, Amir Dossal, assessed that the application of technology can support a country's sustainable development goals (SDGs). We believe blockchain will lead us to the goals of these SDGs.
Blockchain's ability to track, organize, and distribute information is thought to optimize the marketing process and distribution chain. The solution will increase supply chain efficiency in agriculture and fisheries, as well as e-commerce management, intellectual property rights.
One of the Blockchain technologies that can be emulated is STEEM Blockchain. Stakeholders can collaborate among users without crossing borders to jointly realize the SDGs. Steem is a blockchain-based social media platform that fosters a community and enables a direct revenue stream for users by rewarding them for sharing content.
Currently, the only blockchain that can power real applications is through social media applications such as Steemit. Steem flipped the model and returned the value to the people who contributed the most. Users become platform stakeholders, maintain control over their data, and earn cryptocurrency rewards for every contribution they make.
Steemit or Steemit.com is a social media, or social networking and blogging, which is based on the blockchain system of digital currency (cryptocurrency). Two of the initiators of BitShares, Ned Scott and Daniel Larimer, initiated this new style of social media through Steemit Incorporated, which is headquartered in Virginia, United States.
They launched Steemit.com on July 4 2016 with an attractive offer. Namely, virtual money prizes for site fillers with various activities in them. Currently, Steemit Inc has partnered with the TRON Foundation. The announcement has been in the news since February 14, 2020. The two companies will start working together now to unify Steemit and its blockchain-based DApps on the TRON blockchain.
This partnership will advance TRON's agenda of partnering with top companies to provide a dynamic ecosystem for its customers. TRON in the past partnered with large companies such as Samsung, Opera and also DLive as a way to diversify their markets and services.
Steemit being a social media based website, it rewards its users with STEEM cryptocurrency for publishing and also curating content on their website. The company already offers a service similar to Reddit only that they are built on the Steem blockchain.
Apart from that, Steemit users have also built a very strong community network. Various communities and content activists have come to contribute and earn money. Communities can also build a community network "Crypto Charity" which focuses on social activities, charity and human economic empowerment.
One of the programs currently being launched is STEEM For Better Life. Meanwhile, for the achievement of the SDGs, Steemians from Indonesia are also generating ideas about the STEEM For SDGs Program. With the STEEM For SDGs program, it is hoped that it can encourage multi-party collaboration in supporting the achievement of the SDGs itself.
Meanwhile, scout organizations can certainly take this opportunity to build collaboration, cooperation and community strength. Scout organizations can take a role in achieving the SDGs. When the community has worked together, there will be a pretty good impact in the future.
The presence of STEEM Blockchain will also increase individual income. One of the users who have felt the impact quite well from this technology is a user from the State of Venezuela. Currently, users from Venezuela are very active in sharing content on the Steem Blockchain and earning money. Everyone can contribute through this platform.
