Hello, I am Mikael Wong, I am 13 years old and I want to help stop Covid-19.
When COVID-19 first started in Malaysia, there was a shortage of PPE for the frontliners. My father was involved in volunteering to 3D-print faceshields and I decided that I wanted to help the frontliners as well. So I learned about 3D printing and joined the other volunteers to help 3D-print the faceshields at home. These faceshields are then sent to hospitals and clinics all over Malaysia. Making the 3D printed face shields was really a 24-hour thing because the 3D printer prints very slowly and someone needs to monitor the printing so that the 3D printer does not come across any problems.
Using Cura software to 3D-print the faceshield frame
The faceshield frame is being 3D-printed
This is how a completed faceshield looks like
I also did a Lego stop-motion video on the correct SOP to stop the spread of COVID-19 because when it first started, there were a lot of misconceptions going around and many people were not aware. So my sister and I did a PSA to be shared on Youtube.
