Gambia Scouts Association Reporting AGM 2019

In fulfilling the constitutional requirement to converge and report to its membership on the challenges and successes of the association on the year under review courtesy of the Ministry of youths and sports.

The Association presented its Activity report, Financial and Audit report to the Assembly which were adopted.

The occasion was graced by
the Principal Secretary of the ministry of youths and sports

the Deputy Permanent Secretary Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.

The Chairman of the Independent electoral commission and patron of the Association Alieu Mamur Njie

The National Scout Council
The National executive committee
And regional commissioners

In his opening remark Omar Jarju (O.J) International Commissioner said: Scouting is much more relevant in The Gambia today than it has ever been. This is because young people are put in the center of decision making with platforms created for them to learn develop and showcase their talents as they grow up taking leadership responsibilities as they journey to become active citizens in our communities.

DPS Education: scouting is a unique movement that disciplines and provide lifelong learning to the youths by inculcating the values of society and service. He encourage scouts to play a pivotal role in the promotion of peace, dialogue, friendship and development in our respective communities

Scoutings contribution to the sustainable development goals is one way of working towards a sustainable world. The community service initiatives we implement at community level are steps towards spreading the sustainability message in our community.
