Five New Member Countries of the ISGF

Five countries are finally accepted to become full members of the International Scout and Guide Fellowship (ISGF). The five countries are Nepal, Qatar, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Zambia. They are now full members of ISGF, a world-wide organization that houses similar organizations in many countries as a platform for adults over 25 years old who have been active in scouting and still want to live by guiding principles and values. The assurance of the five countries to become a full member of ISGF was decided in the 28th ISGF World Conference held at Inna Bali Beach Hotel, Sanur, Bali, October 9-14, 2017. The presence of the five countries added the number of ISGF members who have now spread over 100 countries in the world. Prior to that, the conference had discussed various ISGF efforts in helping to empower the community. As adults who have been active in scouting, they still hold the principles and moral values of scouting, among them always ready to help those in need, Community empowerment activities include helping earthquake and hurricanes in a number of countries in the Americas, helping floods and earthquakes that hit other parts of the world, helping to improve public health through knowledge of nutrition and healthy living, helping with medicines, literacy activities in the form of library development and provision of books for public reading. Although the average ISGF member is over 50-60 years old, not even a little over 80 years old, all conference participants are still eager have the Scouting spirit, being brothers and sisters to others. They warmly welcome the new members of the ISGF. Photos by the members of the Indonesia Scout Journalist
